The mud of the Mississippi River runs deeply through Austin Hight’s veins. A native of Louisiana, both Austin’s grandfather and father were river boat pilots.
Born and raised in Belle Chasse, Louisiana, where he grew up around the small businesses owned and operated by his family. He gained an appreciation for the challenging decisions business owners have to make on a daily basis; an appreciation that he now applies to his legal practice as the Junior Associate of Favret Carriere Cronvich.
Austin attended Jesuit High School, before heading to Louisiana State University, where he deepened his passion for business by majoring in marketing. After college, Austin attended Tulane Law School, where he was the 1L President of the Maritime Law Society and clerked at the Tulane Legal Assistance Program, which offers pro bono assistance to students and faculty with legal matters.
Austin is determined to stay in New Orleans and help local businesses thrive and prosper.
“New Orleans is my home, and there’s nowhere else in the world that I’d rather be from. The businesses are just as diverse as the people, the music, and the food–so the issues they face vary greatly and require constant attention and innovation to address properly,” says Austin.
Austin is a member of the Louisiana State Bar Association and the Jefferson Bar Association’s Young Lawyers Division. In the fall, you can catch him cheering for the Tigers on Saturdays and the Saints on Sundays.
